About Melanie Barns
Melanie is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Private Client Team. Melanie qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in March 2022.
Melanie started her career in Private Client in 2014, working in a well-respected Court of Protection team as a PA and then moving on to work as a Paralegal in 2018 assisting with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate administration. During her time as a Paralegal, she assisted in High Net worth matters, which included dealing with inheritance tax forms for a deceased whose estate was worth over £3,000,000 and who owned many shares and expensive personal possessions which required selling. She also has experience of assisting clients with Deputyship applications, visiting care homes, and assisting clients who present with mental capacity issues. Melanie has been described as approachable and efficient, whilst treating clients with professionalism and sensitivity.
In her free time, Melanie loves going for long walks and volunteering at her son’s local school events.
